Is a farewell circumambulation (Tawaf al-Wada') obligatory for a resident of Mecca after completing all the rituals of Hajj, and do sins committed after completing Hajj and before the farewell circumambulation affect the reward and validity of the Hajj?

The Farewell Tawaf is the last act performed by a pilgrim before departing Makkah, and it was commanded by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. Scholars differed as to whether it is one of the rituals of Hajj or an independent act of worship. The preponderant view is that it is not part of the rituals, as evidenced by the fact that the people of Makkah do not perform it unless they intend to travel. As for falling into sins after Hajj, it diminishes the reward of a Hajj Mabrur (an accepted Hajj), for which there is no reward but Paradise, especially since sins committed in the sacred months and in the Sacred City carry a greater sin. Therefore, a pilgrim should strive to avoid sins after Hajj, and if they weaken and commit a sin, they must hasten to repent and seek forgiveness.
