1 min readAlso available in العربية

Allah has commanded truthfulness and forbidden lying. Truthfulness guides to righteousness and leads to Paradise, while lying leads to wickedness and enters one into Hellfire. Slander is an exception to truthfulness, and exceptions to lying include: lying in war, reconciling disputants, a man speaking to his wife and a wife speaking to her husband, and concealing the whereabouts of an oppressed person fleeing from an oppressor who intends to kill them.
