What is the meaning of Allah's saying: (Is He then who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who does not guide unless he is guided?)

The noble verse means that Allah Almighty is most worthy of worship, and His Prophet, peace be upon him, is most worthy of being followed. This is because the Prophet guides with demonstration and instruction, while Allah guides with enabling grace and acceptance, unlike idols that guide no one and are dependent on others. Commentators, including Ibn Kathir, have clarified that Allah is the One who guides the bewildered and the astray. Thus, "Is then He Who guides to the truth more worthy to be followed, or he who does not guide unless he is guided?" (Qur'an 10:35) This means, should one follow Him who guides to the truth, or him who does not guide due to his blindness and muteness, as Abraham said to his father: "O my father! Why do you worship that which hears not and sees not and avails you not in anything?" (Qur'an 19:42).
