Should one stop praying when a little blood comes down after inserting the IUD, and what if menstruation comes at an unusual time?

This small amount of blood is not considered menstruation by the majority of scholars, as the minimum period for menstruation is a day and a night. Performing ghusl (ritual bath) as a precaution after seeing a small amount of blood is good, to avoid scholarly disagreement. According to the majority of scholars, ghusl is not obligatory unless the duration of the blood reaches a day and a night. If menstruation occurs outside the usual time, it is considered menstruation according to the most preponderant opinion, and the timing of menstruation can advance or delay, increase or decrease. No scholar holds the view that prayer should be abandoned if menstruation is not present.
