It is permissible for a girl to marry a young man who has taken out an interest-bearing (ribawi) loan. However, if he is unconcerned about consuming usury, it is advisable not to marry him. If he is ignorant or misinterpreting the ruling, then she should explain to him the حرمة (prohibition) of his action and call him to repentance. Repentance does not necessitate selling the house he bought with the interest-bearing loan. If the young man is able to cancel the interest or reduce it by expediting the payment of installments, then he is obligated to do so.
