What is the ruling on using incense on Laylat al-Qadr, based on the belief that it is a blessed night during which jinn are released, and that incensing is necessary to ward off their evil?

Laylat al-Qadr is a blessed night during which it is Sunnah to perform night prayers (qiyam) and to increase in remembrance of Allah (dhikr) and recitation of the Quran. What is said about jinn emerging on this night is false and contradicts the hadith: "When Ramadan begins, the gates of Paradise are opened, the gates of Hell are closed, and the devils are chained." It is a night of peace and mercy, and Satan cannot commit evil during it. Therefore, it should be welcomed with prayer and dhikr, not with fear or the use of incense, which is considered a minor form of polytheism (shirk asghar). Protection from the evil of jinn is achieved by seeking refuge in Allah and reciting the prescribed legal incantations (awrad shar'iyyah).
