Is it permissible for a husband to conceal the true value of his salary from his wife with the intention of helping his family or saving money, and are there any prophetic hadiths that allow this?

Husbands conceal their salaries from their wives for various reasons, including fear of increased demands from the wife, for saving, for spending on family, or for charity, and each person may have their own specific reasons. It is better for the husband to disclose the amount of his salary and cooperate with his wife in managing financial matters, as transparency prevents problems that might arise in case of the husband's illness or death. Religiously, there is nothing that obliges the husband to disclose or conceal his income; the important thing is that he spends reasonably on his household and wife, and does not fall short in that. If the husband sees a benefit in concealment, he may use dissimulation (tawriyah) without outright lying.
