What is the ruling on informing family and friends about the completion of reciting the Holy Quran, when there is a deficiency in memorizing some surahs, and is it obligatory to inform them of the truth, and is it permissible to recite one or two pages from the Quran in supererogatory prayers?

You must seek forgiveness and sincerely repent for what has occurred, for repentance erases sins, and you must strive for truthfulness. There is no need to inform family or friends about what happened; rather, you should conceal your own faults and strive to remedy your memorization of the Qur’an. As for those who will be the first to fuel the Fire on the Day of Resurrection, they are those who learned and recited the Qur’an for show and seeking reputation. As for reciting the Qur’an in voluntary prayers, you may recite whatever you wish, and the more you recite, the better and greater the reward will be.
