Is death and the extraction of the soul painful, and which moments are more comfortable for the servant: this world or the grave?

The extraction of the soul is painful for every soul, but its intensity varies. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, suffered at the time of his death, and this does not indicate a deficiency in rank. Rather, it could be an increase in good deeds or an expiation for sins. If a servant is saved from the torment of the grave, what comes after it is easier; because the grave is the first stage of the Hereafter, and it is an indication of what the state of the deceased will be. The believer finds rest from the world, and the wicked person is a source of relief for the servants, lands, trees, and animals.
