What is the status of the family in Islam, what are the roles of its members, and what is the role of Islam in its formation, organization, and protection?

Before Islam, the family was built upon injustice and abuse, where women were humiliated and deprived of their rights, such as inheritance, and the burying alive of infant girls was prevalent. In the West today, families are disintegrated and children are disobedient, leading to negative consequences.

As for Islam, it was keen on honoring and preserving the family. It honored women as mothers, daughters, and wives, and gave them their full rights. Islam also placed a great responsibility on parents in raising children and encouraged filial piety and kindness towards them. Islam protected the family by encouraging marriage and preventing free mixing, and assigned each individual an important role to play, which led to the cohesion of the Muslim family.
