Is what he did - making the meanings of the Qur’an accessible to children through video episodes using images and children role-playing with altered voices - correct, or is there something to be wary of, and should he continue with it or not?

Firstly: Interpreting the Quran and simplifying its meanings for children is a deed of great reward.

Secondly: The general rule is to prohibit drawing images of animate beings, but an exception is made for what children draw or what is drawn for them, based on what Aisha (may Allah be pleased with her) narrated about her playing with dolls, and the Prophet (peace be upon him) laughing at it. Ibn Hajar deduced the permissibility of having images of dolls and toys from this hadith. Taking pictures from the internet is less severe than drawing them, provided that intellectual property rights are not violated.

Thirdly: The work you published is beautiful and good. It is advisable to review the guidelines for displaying images accompanying recitation in previous fatwas.
