Is it permissible to repeat the Adhan and the supplication thereafter upon hearing it from the television before the local prayer time, and will one be rewarded for that?

It is sunnah and recommended for one who hears the adhan at its prescribed time and has not yet prayed the prayer for which the adhan is given, to respond to the muezzin, due to the general command of the Prophet, peace be upon him, regarding this. However, if the adhan is recorded and not a real adhan at the actual time, then it is not prescribed to respond to it. And if the listener has already prayed the prayer for which the adhan was given, he should not respond, although if he responds with the intention of remembrance (dhikr), there is no harm.
