What is the clarification and proof that granddaughters do not inherit alongside two daughters or more because the two-thirds share has already been taken, whereas if there is only one daughter present, she takes one-half, and the granddaughters are given one-sixth to complete the two-thirds?

If the deceased leaves two or more daughters without any male offspring, they inherit two-thirds, as stated in the Almighty's words: "But if there are [only] daughters, two or more, for them is two thirds of what he left." If there are granddaughters along with them and no grandson to make them 'asabah (residuaries), they inherit nothing because the daughters have exhausted the two-thirds share. However, if there is a grandson, they inherit the remaining share with him by way of ta'sib (residuary inheritance) according to the rule "for the male, what is equal to the share of two females." This is the view of the majority of scholars, in contrast to Ibn Mas'ud's opinion.
