Who are the prophets sent by Allah Almighty, and what are the books He revealed with them?

Allah sent down four heavenly books: the Torah, the Gospel, the Psalms, and the Quran. He sent a messenger to every nation, inviting them to worship Allah alone and to shun false deities. It is obligatory to believe in all the books and messengers, of whom Allah has told us about twenty-five prophets and messengers. The Holy Quran is the last of the heavenly books and abrogates what preceded it. Allah has favored some prophets over others, and the best of them are the Ulul Azm (those of strong will): Noah, Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and Muhammad. Muhammad (peace be upon him) is the best of them and was sent to all mankind. Allah chose the prophets and messengers and made them role models for their nations. They are infallible and supported by miracles. It is obligatory to follow their example, especially that of our Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him). Belief in all prophets and messengers is a fundamental pillar of Islamic creed.
