What is the ruling on combining two prayers (such as Dhuhr and Asr, or Maghrib and Isha) in a Musalla and not in a Masjid?

It is permissible to combine two prayers for the traveler, the fearful, and the sick. Scholars have differed regarding combining prayers due to rain:

- The Malikis: They permitted combining Maghrib and Isha prayers only as jama‘ taqdim (combining and praying earlier) in the mosque due to rain or mud with darkness. - The Shafi'is: They permitted combining the Dhuhrayn (Dhuhr and Asr) and Maghrib and Isha prayers as jama‘ taqdim for someone who intends to pray in congregation in a distant place and is harmed by rain on the way. They prohibited it for someone praying alone or in their home, or if the mosque was close. - The Hanbalis: They permitted combining Maghrib and Isha prayers only, both as jama‘ taqdim and jama‘ ta'khir (combining and praying later), in the event of severe rain, snow, mud, or cold wind, even for someone praying at home or in the mosque, because the concession is general, like travel.
