Can a human being attain perfection or freedom from sins?

A human being cannot be infallible and free from sins except by God's infallibility, and God has rendered only the prophets and angels infallible. A believer can reach the rank of the truthful (Siddiqin) and be among those foremost in good deeds (Sabiqun bil-Khayrat). These are those who perform obligatory and recommended acts, avoid forbidden and disliked things, and if they fall into a transgression, they hasten to repent and follow a bad deed with a good one.
