Did the Prophet, may Allah's prayers and peace be upon him, focus on sorrows and weeping in his sermons, and what is the optimal solution for such an approach?

God sent His messengers as bearers of good tidings and warners, so that humanity would have no argument against God. This is the Quranic approach of encouragement (targhib) and deterrence (tarhib). Preachers should follow this path, introducing people to their Lord, encouraging them with His reward, and warning them of His punishment. They should not embolden people to commit sins by focusing solely on encouragement, nor should they cause them to despair of God's mercy by focusing solely on deterrence. The path of the prophets in da'wah (invitation to Islam) should be followed, and the aspect of deterrence should not be scorned; rather, focusing on only one aspect should be rejected.
