And what is the way to deal with the weakening hope of getting a job, the feeling of lukewarmness in prayer, and religious apathy after returning from a fruitless trip? And does this fall under despairing of the mercy of Allah?

The questioner is advised to elevate his ambition and utilize his free time in what benefits him religiously and worldly. He should maintain chastity through marriage if able, or through fasting if not, as guided by the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. One must stay away from masturbation, pornographic films, and websites, as they are forbidden and corrupt the mind and body. One should promptly repent from these acts. Ambition should not be limited to a single job; a person can engage in other freelance work. One should beware of despair, knowing that what is decreed (by God) is not known to anyone, and it is not permissible to use it as an excuse.
