Al-Zindani mentioned that a historical Indian manuscript recorded that an Indian king named Chakrawati Farmas witnessed the splitting of the moon, and when he learned of the prophethood of Muhammad, peace be upon him, he traveled to him and embraced Islam at his hands, dying in the port of Dhofar. The manuscript is said to be in the India Office Library in London. It was also mentioned in hadith books that the King of India gifted ginger to the Prophet, but al-Razi and Abu Zur'ah deemed this hadith weak. As for the claim of his companionship (of the Prophet), imams such as Ibn al-Athir, al-Shawkani, and al-Dhahabi denounced it, considering what was mentioned in this regard to be a clear falsehood.
