Is electrolysis (hair removal through electric current) considered a form of cauterization, which would exclude its practitioner from the seventy thousand who enter Paradise without reckoning?

Electrolysis for hair removal relies on destroying hair follicles using an electric current or radio frequencies, and it has types: galvanic, thermolysis, and a blend of the two.

If electrolysis causes pain or burning similar to cauterization by fire, it is akin to it. The prohibited cauterization is that which is done to prevent illness before it occurs. However, cauterization for treatment or out of necessity does not contradict reliance on Allah (tawakkul), nor does it prevent entry into Paradise without reckoning, as stated in the Hadith. Removing hair or skin tags by cauterization, if for a legitimate need, does not contradict reliance on Allah, and the dislike (karahah) is removed with need or anesthesia.

It is stipulated that a woman perform it, that it not be in a private area (awrah) except for extreme necessity, and that it not be for removing eyebrow hair (namṣ).
