What is the evidence for the existence of jinn 2,000 years before humans, and that they transgressed, were fought, and inhabited islands? And what is the reason for the scholarly consensus that the most intelligent of jinn do not surpass the thinking capacity of a 10-year-old human child?

Some narrations state that the jinn were on Earth two thousand years before Adam, and there is no consensus that the jinn do not understand like humans; rather, the religious texts indicate the contrary. Among the proofs of their understanding of the Quran and their being affected by it are:

1. Allah’s saying: (Say, "It has been revealed to me that a group of the jinn listened and said, 'Indeed, we have heard an amazing Quran It guides to the right course, and we have believed in it. And we will never associate with our Lord anyone.") and His saying: (And [mention, O Muhammad], when We directed to you a group of the jinn, listening to the Quran. And when they attended it, they said, "Listen quietly." And when it was concluded, they went back to their people as warners.) 2. Their response to the Messenger (peace be upon him) when he recited Surah Ar-Rahman: "I recited it to the jinn on the night of the jinn, and their response was better than yours. Whenever I came to Allah's saying: (Then which of the favors of your Lord will you deny?) they would say: 'We deny none of Your favors, our Lord; to You be all praise.'"

There is no evidence that Allah commanded the jinn to populate the Earth and they failed. A Muslim should concern themselves with what benefits them and not speak about the unseen except with sound proof.
