Is it obligatory to leave Egypt if we see its people disputing over power, by analogy with the Prophet’s (peace and blessings be upon him) recommendation to leave it if two men dispute over the place of a brick?

The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, commanded Abu Dharr, may Allah be pleased with him, specifically to leave Egypt, and this command does not apply to anyone else. This is evidenced by the fact that no other Companion or Tabi'i left Egypt for this reason, and Abu Dharr did not invite anyone else to leave it. This is further supported by the wording of the hadith in one of Imam Muslim's narrations: "If you see two men fighting over the place of a brick, then leave it." The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, singled out Abu Dharr with this command out of compassion for him, fearing the tribulation that would occur in Egypt, which began with the Egyptians' rebellion against Uthman and their killing of Muhammad ibn Abi Bakr. Ibn al-Jawzi was of the view that the phrase indicates the large number of people and their overcrowding in Egypt.
