The answer

If a person is chosen by his colleagues to organize a trip, and they have not agreed with him on a compensatory contract, then he is their agent. It is not permissible for him to profit anything without their knowledge. If he receives a profit from the tourism company, such as having fees waived for him, he is obliged to inform his colleagues. If they permit him, there is no harm. Otherwise, he must pay the same amount as them. An agent is trustworthy, and any profit he earns belongs to his principal, based on the hadith of Urwah ibn Al-Ja'd and the saying of the scholar Muhammad Mawlud Al-Mauritani: "And if there is an increase, the increase is for the principal, not for his agent who has not acted justly." It is obligatory for the organizer to pay the same amount as the others, and the surplus money should be divided equally among all participants. In the future, he may act as an agent for a fee or rent out the service with the knowledge of his colleagues, provided the trip is free from religious prohibitions.
