Is it permissible to pray to be the sixth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs after Al-Hasan ibn Ali, in order to bring about the return of the Caliphate upon the Prophetic methodology?

The statement of the questioner: (I ask Allah to make me the sixth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs after Al-Hasan ibn Ali) is incorrect. 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz is considered the fifth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs, and the imams have unanimously affirmed his justice and that he revived the forgotten Sunnahs. Some narrators of Hadith even held that the caliphate of 'Umar ibn 'Abd al-'Aziz was the caliphate upon the prophetic methodology, which comes after the oppressive and tyrannical kingship.

Moreover, among the Abbasid caliphs, there were those whose conduct in justice and asceticism qualified them to be counted among the Rightly Guided, such as Al-Muhtadi Billah.

Therefore, praying to Allah to make you the sixth of the Rightly Guided Caliphs contradicts facts and reality. As for praying that Allah makes you one of them without restricting it to a number, there is no harm in that, and it indicates the high ambition of the supplicant and his desire for good. It is more appropriate for a Muslim to pray that Allah uses him to support His religion and to couple this supplication with working towards the return of the Rightly Guided Islamic state.
