Is there a contradiction between the two noble verses: "تِلْكَ الرُّسُلُ فَضَّلْنَا بَعْضَهُمْ عَلَى بَعْضٍ" (Those are the messengers—We preferred some of them over others) and "لاَ نُفَرِّقُ بَيْنَ أَحَدٍ مِّن رُّسُلِهِ" (We make no distinction between any of His messengers)?

There is no contradiction between the two noble verses from Surah Al-Baqarah. The meaning of the first verse, "[Those are the messengers, some of whom We have preferred above others]," is that Allah Almighty preferred some messengers over others in matters exceeding prophethood, such as the prophets of strong will, some of whom He took as an intimate friend or spoke to, and some of whom He raised in rank. As for the second verse, "[We make no distinction between any of His messengers]," its meaning is that we believe in all messengers and do not disbelieve in some of them, as those whom Allah Almighty condemned did.
