Is a wife obliged to obey her husband if he orders her to perform the regular Sunnah prayers, Witr, and other supererogatory prayers?
If a husband commands his wife to perform certain supererogatory acts of worship, such as voluntary prayers and the like, the wife is not obligated to obey him in that, but it is commendable for her to obey him. Sheikh Atiyyah Saqr said: "Obligatory obedience is in matters related to the purposes of marriage. Anything beyond that is among the commendable acts that she performs to the best of her ability."
