Is gambling considered apostasy if one persists in it and curses the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, because of it, or is it considered a major sin and not apostasy?

Insulting the Prophet, peace be upon him, is an act of disbelief and apostasy from Islam. The one who commits it must immediately repent and utter the two testimonies of faith, while guarding his tongue and exercising extreme caution against its slips. Gambling is forbidden and a major sin, and one must completely abstain from it, for it is a way of devouring people's wealth unjustly. If a person is afflicted and returns to gambling without deeming it permissible, he does not commit an act of disbelief. However, if he deems gambling permissible, then he commits an act of disbelief. A Muslim must sincerely repent from these sins and sever all ties with them and with those who lead to them.
