Do we stand before Allah Almighty in prayer, and what is the evidence and purpose of that? And is it possible for someone who does not memorize much of the Quran to prolong their prayer?

When a servant stands for prayer, he stands before Allah, meaning he is in front of his Lord, and Allah is facing him. The word "hand" here does not refer to the hand that is an attribute of Allah Almighty.

The worshipper is before Allah in prayer, and then before Him on the Day of Meeting. Whoever fulfills the right of the first standing will find the other standing easier. It is confirmed in the Sunnah that Allah is before the face of the worshipper.

There is no contradiction between Allah's exaltedness and His facing the worshipper. He, glorified be He, is above His Throne, and He is truly before the face of the worshipper, in a manner befitting His majesty.

The righteous predecessors used to prolong their prayers because they were the delight of their eyes. The worshipper can prolong his prayer by reciting several short surahs in one rak'ah, or by repeating what he recites, or by reading from the Mushaf in supererogatory prayers. It is best that the pillars of prayer be proportionate to the length of standing, while paying attention to humility and contemplating the greatness of Allah.
