What is your guidance and how should we deal with the spread of decorated abayas that resemble dresses and reveal parts of a woman's body, and what is the ruling of Islamic law concerning them?

A woman must cover her entire body from non-mahram men, including her face and hands. This covering is not achieved by embellished abayas or those with wide sleeves that reveal the arms.

The Sharia-compliant hijab has conditions, among them: that it covers the entire body, is thick and not transparent, loose and not tight, not adorned in a way that attracts attention, not perfumed, not a garment of fame, does not resemble men's clothing or that of non-believing women, and does not contain crosses or images of animate beings.

Therefore, decorated abayas or those with wide sleeves are not permissible, as they increase temptation rather than prevent it. Religious texts have prohibited displaying adornment, as Allah Almighty says: (And let them not stamp their feet so as to make known what they conceal of their adornment). The further a woman's clothing is from temptation, the better and purer it is.
