Is it permissible for a person to listen to the Qur’an from a CD in a bus?

The Qur'an is the word of Allah, and it is recommended to read it and recite it frequently. It is a means of ascending in the ranks of Paradise. Listening to the Qur'an is also recommended, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, did when he listened to Abu Musa al-Ash'ari's recitation and asked Abdullah ibn Mas'ud to recite to him. Your listening to the Qur'an from CDs, a recorder, a radio, or television has the same ruling (recommendation), whether it is at home, in the car, or on the bus. As long as you are listening attentively and not distracted from it, you will be rewarded for this listening.
