Is it permissible to enter the lavatory while possessing a CD containing the Holy Quran in text, audio, and exegesis? And is the CD to be treated with the same respect as a Mus'haf?

We do not know of any evidence that prohibits taking a digital disc (CD) with the Qur'an recorded on it into the restroom. It is not a visible text, just like an audio cassette with the Qur'an recorded on it. The Permanent Committee has issued a fatwa stating that it is disliked to take a cassette into the restroom when there is no need, but permissible when there is a need, and the same applies to a CD.
