Is it permissible for the husband to prevent his wife from spending the night at her parents' house if the wife's mother excessively interferes in the couple's affairs?

The spouses should be keen on the stability of their family, and the wife should obey her husband in what is right. If she does not, she is disobedient (nashiz). To remedy this, there are steps, and divorce is not the first of them. It is not permissible for the wife to leave the marital home except with her husband's permission or for a legitimate excuse. As for the wife's mother, if her interference in her daughter's and son-in-law's life causes problems, it is a wrongdoing. It is recommended to be patient with her and advise her in the best manner. The husband has the right to prevent his wife's mother from staying overnight in his house, and even to prevent her from visiting if he fears harm from them, while recommending to allow her to visit if possible without فساد (mischief/corruption).
