This blood is considered istihaadah (non-menstrual vaginal bleeding) except for what coincides with the regular menstrual period, in which case it is menses (hayd). The woman must pray, fast, and her husband may approach her. She has all the rulings of pure women during the period considered istihaadah. She must take precautions and perform ablution after the time for prayer begins.
