How is a Christian woman treated under her religion, and what are its rulings concerning her?

If the Christian woman is the wife, there is no difference between her and a Muslim woman in terms of marital rights and duties. The husband should allow her to practice her religion and not prevent her from performing her obligatory religious rites. He should not force her to do anything that she considers forbidden in her religion, even if that deprives him of some of his rights. As for what is not obligatory or forbidden in her religion, he may compel her to do it or prevent her from it if it compromises his right, such as compelling her to perform ghusl (ritual bath) after menstruation. He may also prevent her from permissible acts or religious rites that do not compromise his right and are not obligatory for her, and she must obey him as long as no harm results. The husband should treat her kindly and invite her to Islam.
