Is it true that one of the Companions or others used to sit with drunkards to ensure they did not harm themselves upon returning to their homes? And can we know more about Abu Thawr mentioned in the book "Fiqh Al-Sunnah"?

Sitting with alcohol drinkers while they are intoxicated is forbidden, because Allah has prohibited sitting in gatherings where evil deeds are committed, as evidenced by the two verses: (And when you see those who engage in [offensive] discourse concerning Our verses, then turn away from them until they enter into another conversation. And if Satan should cause you to forget, then do not remain after the recollection with the wrongdoing people) Al-An'am / 68, and (And He has already sent down to you in the Book that when you hear the verses of Allah being denied and ridiculed, then do not sit with them until they enter into another conversation. Indeed, you would then be like them. Indeed, Allah will gather the hypocrites and disbelievers in Hell all together) An-Nisa / 140. Umar ibn Abd al-Aziz flogged anyone who sat with alcohol drinkers, even if they did not drink. As for Abu Thawr, he is Ibrahim ibn Khalid, a jurist and Hadith scholar, born in 170 AH and died in 240 AH.
