You must occupy yourself with what benefits you and increases your faith, and utilize your free time in useful deeds for your religion and worldly life, such as: reading beneficial books, reciting the Holy Quran, and engaging in handicrafts. For health and free time are two blessings in which many people are deceived. Whoever uses them in obedience to Allah is indeed fortunate, and whoever uses them in disobedience to Him is indeed deprived. Among what helps in obedience and increasing faith is the companionship of righteous women and participating with them in beneficial activities. Before and after all this, maintain your obligatory duties, especially prayer, and stay away from forbidden things, especially songs and obscene pictures. And you should fast voluntarily as much as you can, for it is a shield for those who cannot marry.
