The question

How can one overcome the extreme drowsiness and laziness that hinder the performance of many desired acts of worship, especially the night vigil (Qiyam al-Layl) and memorizing the Qur'an, and are there specific points for winning the highest Paradise without reckoning or punishment?

The answer

For a Muslim to be among the people of Paradise (Firdaws), they must achieve faith, perform righteous deeds, and persevere in obedience, even if it is little, for a little that is continuous is better than much that is intermittent.

A Muslim should burden themselves with deeds that they can manage, and gradually increase their actions if they find energy, because religion is ease. One should not delve too deeply into it with severity that leads to boredom and cessation, or excessive voluntary acts that lead to abandoning what is better or delaying obligatory prayers beyond their prescribed time.

If drowsiness overcomes a worshipper, the Sunnah is for them to lie down and sleep until the drowsiness departs, so that they may perform the prayer with humility and a present heart, because a drowsy worshipper might invoke a curse upon themselves instead of seeking forgiveness.

If drowsiness is unusual, efforts should be made to treat it.
