The question

Why do worries and problems increase, sustenance cease, and conditions worsen, the more I draw closer to Allah, strive to supplicate and abandon sins, while adhering to acts of worship and charity, and performing Hajj, Umrah, and Ruqyah Shar'iyyah? Is this a trial or a punishment, and what are the possible solutions?

The answer

This world is a house of trial and tribulation. Patience is one of the most important ways to face tribulation, in order to elevate one's ranks and expiate sins. It is not necessary for tribulation to be a punishment, as the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, was the most afflicted of people, and every decree contains good for the believer.

It is recommended to have more patience and supplication, while maintaining good thoughts about Allah and not despairing. Supplication is answered in one of three ways: hastened, stored for the Hereafter, or by averting an equivalent evil.

It is advised to continue with ruqyah (Islamic exorcism), due to the possibility of unusual causes such as magic or evil eye, especially with the symptoms mentioned.

Finally, it is recommended to strive for marriage, as it is one of the causes of richness and has worldly and otherworldly benefits.
