What is the ruling on reading the Qur'an in congregation in the mosque?

Reading the Qur'an collectively in one voice and unified intonations is disliked (makrooh), unless it is for the purpose of teaching. However, gathering to recite the Qur'an, memorize it, or learn it, with one person reciting and the rest listening, or each individual reciting silently to themselves without their voices aligning with others, is permissible (mashroo') due to the Prophet's (peace be upon him) saying: "No group of people gathers in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, except that tranquility descends upon them, angels encompass them, mercy covers them, and Allah mentions them among those with Him."
