A Muslim should balance the rights of Allah, oneself, family, and spouse. The Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, said, "Salman spoke the truth," when Salman said: "Indeed, your Lord has a right over you, and your soul has a right over you, and your family has a right over you, and your spouse has a right over you. So give every rightful one his due." The husband should spend time with his wife and be amiable with her, for playing with one's family is permissible amusement, and the best among people are those who are best to their families. He should not leave his wife alone always without need.
