What is the ruling on combining prayers by delaying them during study and travel if it is impossible to pray on time for fear of showing off or due to the lack of a place?

One must avoid studying in a way that leads to prayer being offered outside its prescribed time, or performing it without all its complete conditions, except in cases of extreme necessity. If a Muslim is unable to perform prayer on time due to studying, and there is hardship and difficulty in abandoning the study, then it is permissible for him to combine the prayers that can be combined – Dhuhr with Asr, and Maghrib with Isha – according to some scholars. As for Jumu'ah prayer, it is not combined, nor is it made up as Jumu'ah if missed; rather, it is made up as Dhuhr. Refraining from prayer in front of disbelievers is not a justification for combining prayers or offering them outside their time; rather, a Muslim must be proud of his religion. However, if a Muslim fears harm to himself or his property, then he may combine. As for prayers that cannot be combined – such as Asr with Maghrib – they must be performed on time by any possible means, even if that means sitting. If a Muslim fears being separated from his companions, or fears for himself or his property, he may pray on his mount the prayer of the time, and it must be repeated.
