What is the ruling of the Sharia on a wife who dislikes intercourse and obeys her family in everything, even if it involves disobedience to her husband, in addition to revealing marital secrets to her family?
A wife must respond to her husband's call to bed unless there is a legitimate Islamic impediment; otherwise, she is considered rebellious (nashiz). If the wife's family stipulated that she should not leave her country and the husband agreed, he is bound to fulfill this condition. If there is harm in the wife staying overnight with her family, alternative solutions should be sought. It is not permissible for the wife's family to incite her to disobey her husband, nor is it permissible for the wife to reveal the secrets of their marital life, especially those related to the bedroom. The wife's obedience to her husband in what is good (ma'ruf) takes precedence over her obedience to her parents. Her disobedience to him constitutes rebellion (nushuz), which forfeits her right to maintenance and permits him to discipline her.
