The answer

The father must fulfill his duty towards his wife and daughters, and he is not permitted to shirk it. If he is in financial straits, he must prove that to the judge. It is not permissible for paternal uncles and aunts to conceal him or help him escape from fulfilling his obligation. The mother and daughter are permitted to report the father's whereabouts to secure their right. Whoever shelters a person upon whom a Hadd (prescribed punishment) or a right is due, and prevents those who are to collect the right from doing so, is a partner in the crime. It is obligatory to inform of the location of a person or property lawfully sought, and concealment is not permissible. If the one who knows refuses to inform, he may be punished until he reveals it. The daughter should conceal her informing her mother about this to avoid severing kinship ties. If kinship ties are severed, there is no fault on the daughter as long as she maintains contact with them.
