Is there anything authentic regarding the فضْل (merit/virtue) of Arabs?

The criterion for distinction among people is piety and righteous deeds, as evidenced by the Almighty's saying: (O mankind, indeed We have created you from male and female and made you peoples and tribes that you may know one another. Indeed, the most noble of you in the sight of Allah is the most righteous of you. Indeed, Allah is Knowing and Acquainted). As for the superiority of Arabism, it is a preference for a genus, not individuals. A pious non-Arab is better than a negligent Arab. The أهل السنة والجماعة (Ahl al-Sunnah wa al-Jama'ah) have agreed on the superiority of Arabs because Allah chose His Prophet Muhammad, peace be upon him, from among them, and the Quran was revealed in their language. This is affirmed by Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyyah, who stated that the genus of Arabs is superior to the genus of non-Arabs, that Quraysh is the best of Arabs, Banu Hashim is the best of Quraysh, and that the Prophet, peace be upon him, is the best of Banu Hashim. Imam Ahmad and other imams narrated the hadith: "Love of Arabs is faith, and hatred of them is hypocrisy," citing hadiths that confirm the virtue of Arabs, such as his saying, peace be upon him: "Indeed, Allah created creation and made me from the best of their divisions, then the best of tribes and made me in the best tribe, then the best of houses and made me in the best of their houses. So I am the best of them in soul and the best of them in house." The reasons for this virtue are attributed to their unique intellects, tongues, morals, and deeds. Arabs are more understanding, possess better memory, and are more eloquent in expression. Their language is the most complete of tongues in clarity, and their instincts are closer to generosity, forbearance, courage, and loyalty.
