What is the ruling concerning the supplication: "O Allah, wipe with Your Noble Hand upon our bodies and heal them," and what is the ruling concerning people wiping painful areas on their bodies when hearing this supplication?

The supplication "May Allah wipe away your ailment with His healing right hand" has not been authentically narrated from the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him. However, it has been mentioned in the words of some of the early Muslims (Salaf) and no one repudiated it. It should be noted that it is more befitting and better to adhere to comprehensive, authentically narrated supplications, such as the supplication "O Allah, I ask You for all good..." As for the patient wiping himself with his own hand while saying "Ameen" to the supplication of the one performing Ruqyah, there is no harm in that, for the believer is like the supplicant, and wiping with the hand is legislated when supplicating for healing.
