Is it permissible for a patient suffering from schizophrenia and diabetes to perform tayammum, given his extreme aversion and laziness that prevent him from performing ghusl and wudu regularly, even though he is of sound mind and wishes to maintain his prayers?

A sick person who loses control of their actions due to illness is not held accountable for them, and their ruling is like that of someone coerced or insane. If the patient regains consciousness, they are then subject to religious obligations, and must perform ablution (wudu') instead of dry ablution (tayammum) if they are able, and perform ritual bathing (ghusl) for janabah. If they lose their intellect due to illness, religious obligations are lifted from them until they regain consciousness. Missed prayers do not need to be made up if they were missed while the person was unconscious, but if they were missed while fully conscious, they must be made up.
