Have we realized the covenant of faith in God's Lordship that was taken from us when He took it?

It is probable that people knew the reason for the covenant being taken from them, which was so that they would not say on the Day of Resurrection, "Indeed, we were unaware of this," or "It was only our fathers who associated others with Allah, and we were descendants after them." It has been confirmed that Allah took the covenant from the loins of Adam in Arafah, bringing forth his progeny and making them bear witness against themselves: "Am I not your Lord?" They said, "Yes." And Allah took a covenant from them that there is no god but Him, and no lord but Him, and that He would send messengers and books to remind them of His covenant and pledge. So, they affirmed their obedience to Him.
