Lying is forbidden, and it is informing contrary to reality intentionally. It is not permissible except out of necessity or need, or to achieve a good benefit that cannot be realized by any other means. Evasive language (ma'arid) can be used, which are words that bear two meanings. If that is not possible, then lying is permissible to achieve a beneficial interest.
