What is the ruling of Islamic law on practicing masturbation, and does it differ in Ramadan, and how can one get rid of it?

Masturbation is forbidden, and its prohibition is emphasized in Ramadan (definition), with the sin increasing if it leads to intentionally breaking the fast. To get rid of this habit, be truthful with Allah, strengthen your resolve, humble yourself in supplication, increase your faith through acts of obedience and by preserving the obligatory and supererogatory prayers, associate with righteous people, and hasten to marry if possible; otherwise, you must fast.
