What is the ruling on a man working as a social worker in a social rehabilitation center that targets women and children?

Working in the aforementioned center is permissible, as long as it does not lead to unlawful mixing with women, or private seclusion (khalwa (definition)) with a non-mahram (definition) woman, or other Sharia (definition) violations. This is based on the hadith (definition): "I have not left behind me a trial more harmful to men than women," and "Indeed, the world is sweet and green, and Allah has made you vicegerents in it, and He is watching how you act. So, fear the world and fear women, for the first trial of the Children of Israel was concerning women." It is permissible in cases of necessity or extreme need, such as the absence of other experts, while fearing Allah and ensuring the absence of temptation (fitna).
